Constructed by the Beri Chetty community in the 1670s, it is considered to be one of the finest in the neighbourhood. The temple is situated in Rasappa Chetty Street, the temple is associated with the life of the Saivite saint Ramalinga Swamigal who composed ''Deivamanimalai'' here.
